LIBRARY NEWS

On Thursday, November 2, 2017, ten students in Grade 5 met with Ms. Swicord and Mr. Choi to attempt Kramer Lane Elementary School's first ever "Escape Room in a Box" challenge. Based on concept of the ever popular escape room challenge, students needed to locate and use clues, hints, and their knowledge to open a locked box to discover its contents. This challenge tasked the students to help Ms. Swicord unlock the box to access the "ticket to learning". The participants used the 4C's: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity throughout the challenge. With 87 seconds remaining, the students were successful and unlocked the box!  Afterwards, the students participated in a debrief session where they discussed elements of the challenge with Ms. Swicord and Mr. Choi.  Congratulations to all of the participants! Stay tuned for new "Escape Room in a Box" challenges in the future!
